We recommend having your bike serviced once every 12 months or approximately every 1,000 km, whichever comes first.
At our Torquay workshop we offer at least two main levels:
- A Tune-up Service — checking gears, brakes, tyres, bolts, wheel alignment and a test ride.
- A General Service — includes everything in the tune-up plus lubricating cables, chains, axles and pivot points, full drivetrain check and test ride.
Generally service work is completed on the same day. We ask that you drop off your bike between 9 am and 11 am on your appointed day. If additional costs are needed, we’ll contact you before proceeding.
Our servicing centre is at 26 Baines Crescent, Torquay VIC 3228. Booking can be done via our website booking form. If you are having any issues please contact us on 03 5261 8130
Yes — we service both e-bikes and regular bikes. Our team of trained technicians are equipped to handle both.
While drivetrain, brakes, wheels, cables, and typical mechanical checks are listed, our servicing process also covers the electrical system’s basic checks (as part of the “full treatment”) — if any major electrical component issues are found, we’ll inform you of extra costs.
Ensure your battery is reasonably charged (not completely empty), clean off excess mud or sand (especially if you’ve been riding on sand), and ideally bring any accessories or issues you’ve noticed (noise from brakes, shifting issues etc). This helps us inspect quickly and accurately.
Regular servicing supports maintaining your warranty conditions — ensuring wear items are checked and replaced as needed helps avoid claims being rejected due to neglect. (While we don’t quote exact warranty terms here, refer to our Warranty T&Cs page.)
Service pricing varies based on the level (tune-up vs full general service), the condition of the bike, and if any parts need replacing. We’ll provide you a quote before any extra work beyond the basic service.
Between services you should monitor:
- Tyre pressure and tread wear
- Brake pad thickness and brake feel
- Chain stretch and unusual drivetrain noise
- Loose bolts (handlebars, stem, seat clamp)
- Battery performance (sudden drop in range)
Prompt servicing when you notice any of these ensures safer rides and longer component life.
At Bair we service all bikes, not just e-bikes. We service regular bikes, kids bikes, mountain bikes you name it!
